The Celtic Year - The Time of Harvest
This period runs from Lughnasadh to Samhain and contains the Autumn Equinox which runs from 20th until 23rd September. The harvest feast at the time predates the Christian Harvest Festival. It formed a sympathetic magical ritual designed to guarantee that there would be enough food during the winter, by displaying and consuming the finest of the harvest.
